Agus Santoso is a climate scientist specialising in the dynamics of Indo-Pacific climate variability and change. He is the current director of the international project office of CLIVAR (Climate and Ocean Variability, Predictability and Change), a core project of the World Climate Research Programme. He is an Adjunct Fellow at UNSW Sydney after nearly twenty years as a researcher at the UNSW Climate Change Research Centre and involvement in other institutions and research programs in Australia such as CSIRO. He served on the CLIVAR Pacific Region Panel as a member, is an editor at the Journal of Climate of the American Meteorological Society, and a Guest Professor at the Ocean University of China.
At ICOPE 2025, Dr Agus Santoso talk about t Indo-Pacific climate variability such as El Nino, La Nina, and Indian Ocean Dipole events, that impact weather and climate patterns over agriculture intensive regions. He will focus on their recent occurrences, prediction, and what to expect in an increasingly warming climate.
